Organic Pressure
Organic Pressure is a collection of sculptural furniture and objects, shaped intuitively by hand from solid wood. Each work begins as a block of laminated wood, gradually transformed into flowing contours, then stained and finished in high-gloss lacquer to bring depth to the grain.

Coffee Table
The first work in the Organic Pressure collection. Carved from a block of solid wood, its low, flowing form brings the character of a sculpture to the proportions of a coffee table.

A sculptural plinth in stained solid wood, with an undulating surface and a strong vertical presence. Created to stand alone or give another object a place of focus.

An intuitive approach to form.
Casper Smits is a product designer and maker based in Eindhoven. Driven by the desire to create something new, he works intuitively, allowing each form to develop through the making process.
In Organic Pressure, this approach begins with a block of laminated wood. Through patient shaping and refinement, the material becomes a sculptural form. Stain and high-gloss lacquer add colour and depth, while the grain remains part of its character.
