The work that marked the beginning of Organic Pressure. Carved from a block of solid spruce, the coffee table combines a low silhouette with deeply sculpted contours. The wood is stained before layers of high-gloss lacquer draw light across the surface, revealing the grain beneath and giving the solid form a sense of fluidity.

Your choice of wood.
Your choice of colour.
Organic Pressure is carved from solid wood, stained to bring depth and colour to the grain, then finished in high-gloss lacquer. Personal commissions can be explored in your preferred wood species and colour, or in another material where the form allows, with each combination considered for its character, availability and suitability for the design.
Shaped by intuition
Every piece begins with the curiosity to create something new. Casper works intuitively, allowing the form to evolve as he shapes the wood. The process is guided by the material, the rhythm of the curves and the possibilities that emerge along the way.
Each work carries its own proportions, gestures and grain. Even within the same collection, it develops an individual character through the making process: a sculptural object shaped by the material and the hand.
Carved from solid wood
Each work begins with solid wood, laminated layer by layer into one substantial block. Lamination is a refined technique from fine furniture making: by balancing the grain of every layer, the block becomes more stable and less prone to warping or splitting than a single piece of timber. It also allows for generous, sculptural volumes that a single tree rarely offers.
From there, the form is gradually revealed through a demanding process of carving, shaping and refinement, with close attention to the balance of every contour.
The wood is then stained to develop the chosen colour and finished with layers of high-gloss lacquer, bringing depth to the surface while keeping the grain visible. This process takes time, patience and sustained work by hand. The indicative production time is 10–15 weeks, confirmed individually for each commission.
Created for your space
A personal commission begins with a conversation about the work and the space it will inhabit. Different wood species and stain colours offer different expressions, from the character of the grain to the way light moves across the finished surface.
Casper can explore your preferred wood species, colour or material, shaping a piece with its own sculptural identity. The material, finish, dimensions and production timeline are discussed individually. Every enquiry is answered personally within two working days.
The nature of solid wood
Wood is a natural material with its own grain, structure and response to humidity and temperature. Casper works with great care throughout the shaping, staining and finishing process, aiming for the most refined result possible.
Its behaviour cannot be entirely predetermined. Subtle variations, small surface irregularities or fine natural fissures may occur as the material responds to its surroundings. Relevant characteristics are discussed individually, and any concern about the appearance or performance of a piece can be raised directly with the studio.
